Manchester United will be trying to bring in Christian Eriksen during the January transfer window – as per reports.

The playmaker has been the mainstay in the Spurs midfield ever since he joined the club from Ajax in 2013 but he will be a free agent at the end of the current season and right now a number of clubs are eager to sign him.

Last summer, clubs like Real Madrid and Juventus had been heavily linked with Christian Eriksen but ultimately the transfer could not happen which many believe has caused a degradation of relationship between the player and the club.

While Spurs want the player to sign a new deal so as to prevent losing him for free, Eriksen, on the other hand, is looking to run down his contract so that the Lilywhites cannot stop him from moving out next summer.

And this decision has been a real blow for Spurs since Daniel Levy wanted to bag a hefty price from the sale of the Danish international.

But it looks like Manchester United could give the London club some respite.

As per reports, the Old Trafford outfit is planning to make a for Christian Eriksen during the summer window and Solskjaer is willing to pay big bucks to sign him.

Last summer, Man United were ready to pay around £70 million for the player but eventually backed out thinking Real Madrid were the favourites to land Eriksen.

But right now there is no indication that Real Madrid would want to make a move for Christian Eriksen in January which means Spurs could easily agree to sell the playmaker to Man United in fears of losing him as a free agent.

Having said all this though, reports claim the 27-year-old is eager to move to Spain in order to have a better chance of winning trophies and this could be a big hurdle for United to cross.

Also, if Christian Eriksen does not sign a new deal then he would be free to talk to interested clubs from January onwards which means he could easily snub Man United to agree on a pre-contract with the Los Blancos and head out of London at the end of the season.
