Will this Chelsea misfit agree to leave Stamford Bridge and join the Serie A next year?

Christian Pulisic and Jamie Vardy Chelsea Leicester City

Chelsea brought in Christian Pulisic hoping that the American international would set the Premier League on fire. But, he’s clearly failed to live to the hype which he had created at Borussia Dortmund.

And as per the latest reports, Genoa’s new manager Andriy Shevchenko wants to sign the winger – possibly during the January transfer window.

Shevchenko has just replaced Davide Ballardini at the Serie A club and the new boss seems to have set his sights on the 23-year-old who is clearly not a regular starter at Chelsea under Thomas Tuchel.

Will Tuchel allow Christian Pulisic to leave?

Christian Pulisic is into his third season with Chelsea but his career in England is yet to properly take off.

Last season, he scored only four goals in 27 Premier League games and this campaign he’s really struggled for game time, playing only two league matches to date. Pulisic has been on the sidelines with a lengthy injury and he’s only come back to full fitness in recent weeks.

And club this with the fact that Tuchel has so many forwards amongst his ranks, it won’t be a surprise if he decides to cash in on Christian Pulisic next year.

The manager has players like Lukaku, Werner, Ziyech and Mason Mount and all of them are doing much better than Pulisic meaning even if the American international is allowed to leave Chelsea won’t feel much of a difference.

Will Christian Pulisic agree to join Genoa?

While Thomas Tuchel shouldn’t have any problem in selling Christian Pulisic but there’s no way the winger will agree to join a club like Genoa.

Genoa have been really poor this season and so far they have picked up only nine points from the first 12 league games.

They have won one match and that win came in the second week of September.

He’s currently playing for Chelsea, a side who are sitting at the top of the Premier League table so to join a side who are 17th on the Serie A table will be a major downgrade.

No matter how much money Shevchenko’s side are willing to offer, Christian Pulisic would much rather head to the MLS than play for Genoa and feature in a relegation battle.
