Barcelona ended the season on a high after Lionel Messi inspired the Catalan giants to a 3-1 victory over Alaves.

Lionel Messi started off the scoring when he curled a sweet left-footer past the Alaves goalkeeper into the back of the net. This was the first of three goals for Barcelona on the night and it came just on the half hour mark.

But Alaves were quick to reply with a stunning goal of their own. 19-year-old Theo Hernandez bent in a devilish free-kick into the back of the net to level it up.

But Barcelona shifted gears quickly and wrapped up the match before the first half whistle. They saw goals from Neymar and Paco Alcacer just before half-time to seal a comfortable victory.

Messi Magic:

The Argentine left his mark on the Copa Del Rey final as he was involved with all the three goals that Barcelona scored on the night.

He scored the first goal with a brilliant curling left-footer from just outside the box after exchanging a one-two with Neymar. And with that goal, Messi ends the season with 54 goals.

He also provided an assist in the third goal as he glided past three Alaves defenders to put the ball on a plate for Alcacer.
