Bayern Munich and recently Chelsea have been linked with a move for Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo but Erik ten Hag is in no mood to part ways with him.

The Athletic are claiming that Chelsea’s new owner Todd Boehly met with Cristiano Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes last week to discuss the possibility of a transfer and this news comes just days after Bayern Munich were said to be looking at CR7 as the replacement for Lewandowski.

However, Fabrizio Romano has cleared the air stating that currently Erik ten Hag and Manchester United have no intention of selling Cristiano Ronaldo as he is very much part of the new manager’s plans.

He wrote on Twitter: “Transfer window’s still long, things can change… but Manchester United are clear on Cristiano Ronaldo: he’s considered not for sale, no talks now ongoing to sell him.

“Man United and Erik ten Hag both want Cristiano to stay and expect him to be part of the team.”

Is Erik ten Hag taking a risk by holding onto Cristiano Ronaldo?

Cristiano Ronaldo has one year left on his current deal and since Man United have failed to secure Champions League qualification, there’s still a very real chance that he might look to leave this summer.

But, it’s clear that Erik ten Hag is ready to put his faith in the Portuguese because the club are not being linked with any major centre-forwards.

Before the start of the window, the signing of a new centre-forward was a top priority for the club but now Ten Hag is more focused on signing defenders and midfielders.

Sooner or later, the new boss will have to sign a world-class striker because there’s no way Ronaldo will stay at Old Trafford beyond the next year but right now, ETH has full faith in the player.

Chelsea’s new owner is pretty ambitious but there’s very little chance Ronaldo is going to join them this summer. The Blues are much more focused on signing players like Sterling and Richarlison and we think Tuchel won’t be too keen to get a 37-year-old on board.
