Aston Villa trying to land this Liverpool midfielder before deadline day: Will Klopp let him leave?

Aston Villa are trying to make a last-ditch move for Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones and they are about to make a formal offer, claims The Sun.

The report claims: “ASTON VILLA are ready to sound out Liverpool about buying talented youngster Curtis Jones.

“The big-spending outfit remain in the market and could make the surprise with Jones, 20, not yet making a solid breakthrough at Anfield.

“Villa could go in at around £15million and that would put Liverpool on the spot and give them a decision to make.”

Will Jurgen Klopp let Curtis Jones leave?

Aston Villa have had a busy summer, signing players like Buendia, Leon Bailey and Danny Ings plus they have offloaded Jack Grealish for a massive fee to Manchester City. So it’s not a big surprise that they are willing to spend money on this talented midfielder.

Curtis Jones is valued at £27 million and still has four more years left on his current deal so Villa, right now, are not even close to the player’s valuations.

And this is perhaps one of the biggest reasons why Jurgen Klopp will not let him leave.

Also, Liverpool have had a really muted transfer window and we do not expect the club to make any major signings before the window shuts down.

So £15 million will be of no use to the manager who will be much better off holding onto the 20-year-old for one more season.

The manager has players like Naby Keita and Oxlade-Chamberlain so Curtis Jones will definitely struggle for game time should he remain at Liverpool. But then, Klopp will not want to risk selling him and be the victim of another injury-hit squad.

Curtis Jones is yet to make an appearance for Liverpool this season but as the club gets into the cup competitions, the midfielder should be getting game-time.
