Real Madrid receive a huge boost before their UCL clash vs Liverpool: More planning from Klopp?

Dani Carvajal Real Madrid

Real Madrid take on Premier League side Liverpool in the quarter-final of the Champions League next week and right-back Dani Carvajal is expected to feature in this two-legged tie.

Spanish publication Marca reports: “Real Madrid right-back Dani Carvajal took a major step towards a return to action on Friday, as he began training on grass again.

“The idea is that the 29-year-old will be fully reintegrated into training next week and then be ready to play a part in the big games coming up.”

Dani Carvajal has been recovering from a hamstring injury which he picked up in mid-February and now that he is back to green grass training, the right-back should be fully fit and available for selection when Liverpool come to town.

The 29-year-old is one of the more experienced players in the Real Madrid squad but this season he has been picking up constant injuries. The latest hamstring injury being his fourth of the season.

During the ongoing campaign, Dani Carvajal has managed to play in only 11 La Liga games for Real Madrid, managing four assists. But it will be a big boost for Zidane, both defensively and offensively, if he starts vs Liverpool.

The Liverpool attackers have not been in the best of form over the past few months and an experienced pro his Carvajal will know exactly what to do to keep players like Mo Salah and Firmino at bay.

Real Madrid will take on Eibar before their clash vs Liverpool and Dani Carvajal is expected to feature in this matchday squad and even play a few minutes.

Some experts believe this plan of bringing back the right-back so abruptly could backfire badly for Zinedine Zidane but the manager knows exactly what he’s doing and if Carvajal features in the starting XI at the Bernabeu next weekend then is fully fit to play.
