Arsenal have been going through a rough patch during the past couple of weeks and now it looks like they will be without Dani Ceballos for some time now.

Dani Ceballos was brought in on loan from Real Madrid in order to serve as the long-term replacement for Aaron Ramsey and up until now, the Spaniard has been the creative spark for the Gunners in an around the final third.

But now as per reports, it looks like Dani Ceballos will miss the clash vs Leicester City due to a hamstring injury.

The midfielder picked up an injury during the Gunners’ draw vs Vitoria in the Europa League in midweek and now the club have confirmed that he will miss the trip to the King Power Stadium.

In an Arsenal’s official website said[as reported]: “Left hamstring. Sustained during the Vitoria (a) match on November 6.

“Currently being assessed, but will miss Saturday’s match at Leicester City. No other first-team squad players are unavailable due to injury.”

The absence of Dani Ceballos will surely be a huge blow for Unai Emery but for Mesut Ozil, this could be a blessing in disguise.

Up until now, Mesut Ozil has been struggling to get game time at Arsenal but with Ceballos ruled out, the manager could finally be forced to use the German playmaker in a high-profile game.

While Emery does have the option of using Joe Willock in the attacking midfielder’s role on Saturday but given the gravitas of the game, we don’t think the boss will look beyond Mesut Ozil.

UPDATE:

Unai Emery has further confirmed in his pre-match press conference that Dani Ceballos will miss the trip to the King Power Stadium.

“Good evening, [Dani] Ceballos has a small injury and he is going to be out for tomorrow. The rest of the squad, I think they are ready for tomorrow.” Emery said in his press conference.
