Earlier this week, Barcelona had agreed on personal terms with Dani Olmo but RB Leipzig have now spoiled the party by rejecting Barca’s offer for the midfielder.

As per reports, Barcelona had offered €55 million upfront, along with €7 million in easy-to-achieve and difficult add-ons however Leipzig are not interested in such a payment structure. Florian Plettenberg is claiming that Leipzig are demanding €60 million upfront and then a couple of million in add-ons along with that.

Dani Olmo is ready to leave Germany and the club where he played his youth football but now he will have to wait and see what the future holds for him. However, this time will be really panic-stricken for Barca because several other clubs have also been linked with the midfielder and now they might come calling for the 26-year-old.

Will new clubs challenge Barcelona for Dani Olmo?

Apart from Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Chelsea and Man City have all been linked with Dani Olmo during this summer window but these teams had given up hope because the midfielder had already agreed personal terms with the Catalans.

However, now that RB Leipzig have rejected Barca’s offer there’s a major likelihood that all these three clubs will once again make contact with Olmo’s representative in hopes of changing his mind.

Dani Olmo might have his heart on returning to Camp Nou but if Barcelona cannot meet Leipzig’s financial demands the midfielder will have to look for an alternate plan. Either he can remain with the Bundesliga side for one more season or choose to join another one of his suitors.

Chelse and MCFC can very easily afford to pay €60-70 million for a talent like Dani Olmo but we think Bayern Munich will be the favourites if Barcelona cannot gather the funds in time. Some experts believe that if Barca fail to land him then Olmo will prefer remaining in Germany instead of moving to the Premier League.

Barca are already struggling to pay the required money for Nico Williams and they now have to start selling some important players to ensure that Olmo does not slip away from their clutches.

The Spanish international has played 148 games for Leipzig and even though he wants to play under Hansi Flick next season, there’s no reason to believe that he will snub so many other big clubs and wait for Barca until the very end of the transfer window.
