Premier League Daniel Sturridge

Daniel Sturridge’s time at Liverpool is over after Jurgen Klopp has made it clear that the forward would be leaving the club on the expiration of his current deal.

Sturridge joined the Reds from Chelsea in 2013 and at one time he was the second most prized possession at the club after Luis Suarez.

But a number of injuries have signed ruined his career and the England international will now have to go in search of a new club.

The German said: “Alberto is a person whose personality is reflected in how he plays – full of life, full of energy, always positive. An unbelievable character who is always willing to give all of himself for the team.

“Daniel has earned the right to be considered a modern-day Liverpool great, I would think. He came to the club while we were trying to rebuild and re-establish ourselves. Some of the goals he has scored for Liverpool were so, so, so important.

“We will miss them of course, but we can say farewell with the best words possible: Guys, you leave as European champions.”

During the 2018-19 season, Daniel Sturridge played in only 18 Premier League games for Liverpool which would suggest that finding a good club might be a bit difficult for the forward.

But reports have suggested that a string of clubs have shown interest in signing him.

Scottish clubs, Rangers and Celtic are both in the race to sign the 29-year-old and as per the bookmakers, the Glasgow sides are amongst the frontrunners to bring Daniel Sturridge on board for the upcoming season.

This surely will be good news for the fans of both the clubs but the Liverpool man will have to take a massive pay cut in order to move to Scotland – or either Celtic or Rangers will have to splash out a hell lot of money on wages.

And both these situations look highly unlikely.

West Ham United are also interested in signing Daniel Sturridge but the Hammers are currently too focused on Mitrovic and reports suggest Pellegrini is only thinking of the Liverpool forward as a backup plan.

Newcastle United have also been named in the list of the interested clubs and we believe Rafa Benitez has the best shot at signing the forward.

If Daniel Sturridge were to join the Magpies then he will be guaranteed a regular place in the first XI – something which he had struggled to get during the 2018-19 season despite being fit for most of the campaign.
