David De Gea has been the mainstay in United’s goal this season – especially in the Premier League but it looks like the keeper is going to miss the Man United vs Liverpool clash this weekend.
The keeper started during’s Spain’s EURO qualifier vs Sweden but had to be taken off on the hour-mark due to a suspected injury.
And speaking after the game, the Spanish manager revealed that David De Gea might have injured his groin which is why he was taken off as a precautionary measure.
‘He had pain in the abductor muscle but he received treatment at half-time and wanted to keep playing,’ Moreno said(as reported by The Metro).
‘He gave us his word, but in the end, he couldn’t continue.’
Initial reports had suggested that David De Gea’s injury might be serious meaning he could be out for a really long time.
Now though it seems like the injury is not too serious but the keeper will miss the clash vs Liverpool this Sunday.
While talking to the press, Man United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed the injury stating that David De Gea will miss the high-profile clash on Sunday.
“David needs a scan,” United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer told Sky Sports.

“I think he’ll be out. It certainly looked like it anyway judging on last night so it’s just one of those things.”
This is certainly a huge blow for Man United since the manager would surely have wanted David De Gea infront of goal when the likes of Mo Salah and Sadio Mane are attacking.
But having said that, Sergio Romero is going to be the first choice keeper for the Red Devils on Sunday and the Argentine is more than an apt keeper.
Romero has been United’s No 1 during the Europa League and the cup competitions and he will surely do a good job in replacing David De Gea for the Man United vs Liverpool clash.
