Man United dropped two valuable points in the Premier League, drawing their latest match against Everton and in the aftermath of the draw, goalkeeper David De Gea is currently the centre of attraction.

The keeper was at fault for two of Everton’s three goals on the night and according to pundit Gary Neville, the Man United No 1 made some novice errors against Ancelotti’s side.

Neville said, as reported: “David de Gea, there, at the end. He doesn’t even come in line with the ball.

“I think you want goalkeeper to come, as Jamie said there, and eat the striker. You just want your goalkeeper to come out there and absolutely take him out.

“There have been some awful performances in parts of games. Tonight they put in one of their better performances but in moments defensively they were really bad.

“David De Gea, there [the first Everton goal], so weak. The parry out into the box – it’s not good enough, they’re not clearing their lines.

“Luke Shaw not sprinting out to the corner as quick as he can do, Fred not making it.”

Time for David De Gea to step down?

The 30-year-old looks way past his prime and this season, he has managed to keep only eight clean sheets in the Premier League so far, conceding 27 goals in the remaining games.

It’s quite evident that Solskjaer is looking to nurture Dean Henderson as his next long-term No 1 but the way David De Gea has been deteriorating, Henderson might have to take over the reins earlier than expected.

We thought, this season, De Gea would be the undisputed first-choice keeper for Man United but after his terrible performance against Everton, it will not be a surprise to see him move to the bench for the next few games.
