Arsenal will be offloading a number of players during 2019 and many believe the first player to walk out of the Emirates will be midfielder Aaron Ramsey.

But now it looks like, the Gunners’ first sale of the January transfer window will be that of goalkeeper David Ospina.

Arsenal signed Bernd Leno during the summer transfer window meaning Ospina was set to become the third choice keeper under Unai Emery.

But instead of rotting amongst the ranks, Arsenal chose to loan out David Ospina to Napoli on a season-long loan deal.

And now reports are suggesting that the Italian side will exercise their option to buy and make the loan deal permanent during the January transfer window.

David Ospina has impressed Carlo Ancelotti during his time at the club and the Italian manager is willing to make the Colombian his No 1 choice for the upcoming season.

Arsenal already have the services of Bernd Leno and Petr Cech meaning they should not have any hesitation in letting Ospina leave at the start of the new year.

Ospina has played 15 games so far for Napoli having conceded 17 goals which is not a very handsome ratio but the Serie A outfit are willing to place their bets on the 30-year-old in the long run.

Initially, it was thought that Napoli would wait until the end of the season to make a final call on David Ospina’s future but now it seems Carlo Ancelotti does not want to waste time in making the loan move permanent.
