Premier League side Liverpool FC are reportedly very keen to sign centre-back Dayot Upamecano from RB Leipzig this summer and as per some rumours, the Anfield outfit have already set the ball rolling.

According to Bild, Liverpool have gotten in touch with the 22-year-old to discuss a potential move at the end of the summer and this news could be a major blow for the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United.

The Blues and Man United have been heavily linked with a move for Dayot Upamecano over the past year but with Liverpool making rapid progress, the centre-back could be spoilt for choices.

Dayot Upamecano joined Leipzig in 2017 and over the past three years, the defender has turned himself into one of the key figures in the first-team squad.

Which club will Dayot Upamecano join the summer?

Leipzig would love to hold onto him for one more season but with so many big clubs interested in him, we are pretty sure that Dayot Upamecano will be playing for a new side next season.

Some experts think Liverpool stand a very strong chance of signing the 22-year-old, given that he will have the chance to partner Virgil Van Dijk at Anfield.

But apart from Liverpool, Chelsea and Man United, Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich are also in the hunt and most of the rumours in Germany claim that Hansi Flick’s side will be the one to land the services of the 22-year-old.

Bayern have been keeping an eye on the defender for a really long time now and they are finally set to make a formal move for him during the summer transfer window.

Bayern could easily steal a march over the other clubs in the transfer race of Dayot Upamecano but defending EPL champions Liverpool will not give up without a proper fight.

As far as Chelsea and Manchester United are concerned, they will also try and convince the 22-year-old to join them next season but for the pitch to be convincing enough, the two Premier League side will have to pick up a major silverware this campaign.
