Premier League side Liverpool and Man United are actively keeping tabs on West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice, according to journalist Ian McGarry.

He said, on the Transfer Window Podcast: “He[Declan Rice] is no longer on the transfer list of recruitment possibilities for the Stamford Bridge club, but he has certainly roused the interest of Liverpool and Manchester United.

“Both of whom have expressed interest to Rice’s agent as we understand and they have asked to be kept informed of any offers made for the England international.”

For the longest time, Declan Rice was the target for Chelsea but now that Frank Lampard has been sacked, the Blues seemed to have withdrawn their interest in the 22-year-old.

But now, the entry of Liverpool and Manchester United might complicate things even further.

Man United have been previously linked with Rice but Chelsea were always ahead of them in the transfer race. But now with the Blues out, Man United will once again go all out to sign the England international.

Liverpool will also look to bring in reinforcements during the summer but West Ham United want upwards of 80 million pounds and we are not sure if the Anfield outfit can afford to pay such a massive sum.

West Ham United obviously do not want to part ways with Declan Rice anytime soon but if they are offered crazy amounts of money, the Hammers are bound to crack.

One of the ways through which West Ham might be able to hold onto Rice for the upcoming season is if they can qualify for the Champions League. And given how they are performing this campaign, there’s a big chance that the London side might finish in the top-four.

During the 2020-21 season, Declan Rice has played in 24 Premier League games so far starting in each and every of those.
