Manchester United are planning a major dressing room clear-out in the summer as they look to sign Harry Kane and Declan Rice, as per the Mirror.

Erik ten Hag has done a wonderful job reshaping Man United into an exciting team but he still needs a few more important players to be able to complete his squad.

A new striker and a defensive midfielder will be the top priority during the summer and to make these signings, the manager will have to generate funds by selling the unwanted players.

According to the report, ETH is planning to sell Alex Telles, Eric Bailly and Donny van de Beek because they are way down the pecking order at the moment. Telles and Bailly are currently out on loan while Van de Beek’s recent injury setback will keep him on the sidelines until the end of the season.

Apart from these players, the manager is also planning to get rid of Harry Maguire, Anthony Martial and Scott McTominay because these three players will help generate the most funds.

Ten Hag is planning to reuse this money to sign Declan Rice and Harry Kane because cumulatively these two are going to cost around £150-80 million.

Both Kane and Declan Rice are targets for several major European clubs so bringing them on board will not be an easy task. But before they get into a transfer battle, Man United will need to make sure that they have adequate funds to pull these deals through.

Clubs like Arsenal and Chelsea have been heavily linked with Declan Rice and West Ham United will let go of Declan Rice if a club is willing to pay the right fee. However, signing Kane will be a huge task because Spurs are not ready to let him go and Daniel Levy will use all his might to hold on the centre-forward.

So far, all the signings that Ten Hag has made at Man United have worked out brilliantly and if he now wants to sign Rice and Kane, the Glazers will fully back him.

There’s no denying that Manchester United will have to battle fiercely for these two players but if they can finish in the top four plus secure a silverware then they will undoubtedly move ahead in the queue.
