Midfielder Declan Rice is expected to leave West Ham United in the summer and according to Football Insider, Manchester United are really interested in signing him.

Rice has been one of the best defensive midfielders in the Premier League for a few seasons and since his contract with the Hammers is expiring in 2024, it’s very clear that West Ham United will cash in on him during the summer. The club somehow managed to hold onto him this time around but they are currently 16th on the Premier League table so there’s no way Rice will stay for one more campaign.

Clubs like Arsenal and Chelsea are already being linked with the England international and now it looks like Manchester United have also joined this bandwagon.

According to the experts, Declan Rice has made up his mind to leave the London Stadium but his wish is to keep playing his football out of London. This bit of news automatically puts Arsenal and Chelsea in the driver’s seat but Man United will still go all out to sign him up.

Right now, the Gunners are the favourites to land the 24-year-old as they have been in constant contact with the player’s representatives but it’s becoming very clear that this transfer is not going to be a one-horse race.

Chelsea will get rid of several players at the end of this season so there’s every chance they will try and sign someone like Declan Rice. Yes, they have brought in Enzo Fernandes in January but N’Golo Kante and Loftus-Cheek will likely to released in the summer and Rice will be the ideal replacement.

Erik ten Hag is also planning to sell Scott McTominay while Casemiro is 31 years old so it makes complete sense why the manager is so interested in Declan Rice.

However, all said and done, if Arsenal can win the Premier League by the end of May then it will be very hard to out-muscle them in this transfer race. The only way Man United or Chelsea can overtake the Gunners is by pricing them out.

If Rice’s wish is to remain in London then Arsenal will be the obvious choice because we don’t think Chelsea will be playing in the Champions League next season.
