West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice is likely to leave in the summer but Spanish giants Real Madrid might not join this transfer race.
Premier League sides Chelsea and Manchester United have been interested in the midfielder for more than a year but these sides were sent into a slight panic situation because recent reports had suggested that Real Madrid are also keen on signing him.
Rice is currently one of the best defensive midfielders in the whole of Europe and this season, he has four assists and one goal in 28 Premier League games.
He chose to remain with West Ham United primarily because the Hammers are playing in Europe this season but no matter how high they finish on the table, Rice will definitely look to move out.
Why are Real Madrid not interested in signing him?
As per the major updates, Declan Rice is valued at around £125 million and since he has several years left on his contract, West Ham United are not going to offer any major discounts.
And this high price tag is the foremost reason why Real Madrid have decided to withdraw their interest.
According to Defensa Central, Madrid deem Declan Rice to be too expensive which is why they are not going to make an offer for him in the summer.
Good news for Man United and Chelsea?
Chelsea have been the frontrunners in signing the West Ham United man but their recent ownership mess might have pushed them down the pecking order.
We will only know about their plans once a new owner comes in but till that date, we don’t think the Blues are the favourites to sign Rice.
Man United, on the other hand, have received a major boost in this race because it’s being claimed that Declan Rice is open to joining the Old Trafford outfit.
If United can offer the right price for the midfielder they can very well land the defensive midfielder and this will help them solve their long-lasting problem of playing two defensive midfielders instead of a single one.
Paul Brown of Give Me Sport, has claimed that Rice is looking for a fresh challenge but at the same time, he is not going to force his way out of West Ham United.
He said: “I don’t think he is someone who is going to force his way out with a formal transfer request or any particular demands, but they’re at a point where he probably isn’t going to sign a new contract because he wants to test the water,”
