England legend Sir Geoff Hurst believes West Ham United should be rational and cash in on Declan Rice this year amidst interest from some of the biggest Premier League sides.

Manchester City, Chelsea and Manchester United have all been linked with the England international but as per the major sources, David Moyes is not too keen to let him leave in the summer.

Obviously, it will be massively hard for the Hammers to hold onto him for one more season which is why Hurst thinks the manager needs to offload him and then use the transfer fee to rebuild his squad.

“I’m hopeful [he will stay] but not necessarily confident,” Hurst told talkSPORT.

“It is a big issue for a young player with his outstanding talent at a club not in the top four or five.

“They’ve offered him a big contract and I’d like to see him at the club and stay. He’s absolutely brilliant, a decent lad and fantastic player and still to improve.

“[But]If you were to get £100million plus, which is a possibility, then you could strengthen the club with three or four players in different positions.”

Will Declan Rice remain with West Ham United or will he choose to move out?

Declan Rice wants to play in the Champions League and since West Ham United have failed to qualify for the UCL next season, the midfielder is envisioned to leave in the summer.

Manchester United might ultimately back off due to the high price tag but Chelsea and Manchester City are still firmly in this transfer race and we expect one of them to land Rice in the coming months.

The Hammers are reportedly demanding around £120-30 million for the midfielder but thinking practically, Moyes will agree to a sale if a suitor is ready to pay around £95-100 million.

Which club is Declan Rice likely to join?

Manchester United seems to be the least favourite in this transfer because they think Rice’s price tag is too high plus they won’t be playing in the Champions League next season.

Chelsea have qualified for the UCL so they will definitely make a good case for themselves but with Gundogan likely to leave, Man City might just be to lure him in. They are one of the best teams in world football right and under Guardiola, the England international will have the chance to polish his skills even further.

Gundogan could leave this summer or maybe the next and there’s a chance that even Bernardo Silva will head for greener pastures. If both these players move out then Declan Rice can come in and slot right into the City midfield.
