Kingsley Coman is currently up for grabs and along with Barcelona and PSG, Premier League side Arsenal are also interested in signing the winger.

According to journalist Pete O’Rourke, the Gunners are preparing to make a move for the French winger who is currently available on a loan deal for the 2024-25 season with an option to buy at the end of it.

Bayern Munich are looking to reduce its wage burden, having already sold Noussair Mazraoui and Matthijs de Ligt. Now, they are considering letting Coman go amid strong interest from other clubs.

Coman has been with Bayern since 2017 and has played in 234 games across all competitions. However, his importance to the team has diminished over the years, and last season, the 28-year-old missed 21 matches due to five different injuries.

Do Arsenal need Kingsley Coman in their side next season?

Mikel Arteta already has Gabriel Martinelli and Trossard as his two left-wingers so it does not make sense why Arsenal are so interested in Kingsley Coman.

Yes, Coman is still a top player but the last thing he will want is to join a team where he is challenged by two young wingers for a playing spot every weekend.

The fact that he can play as a left and also as a right-winger might be one of the reasons why Arteta wants him on board but signing someone who missed 125 days with injuries last season just does not make sense.

Can the Gunners challenge Barcelona and PSG?

Even if Arsenal go all out to land Kingsley Coman, there’s no way they will be able to go ahead of Barcelona and PSG.

PSG are trying really hard to convince the winger to come to his home turf but multiple reports have claimed that Barcelona are leading the race to sign the 28-year-old.

Kingsley Coman spent a considerable amount of time under Hansi Flick at Bayern Munich and Barca are confident that the winger will want to reunite with their new manager. Also, at Camp Nou, his only competition down the left wing will be Ferran Torres so it’s safe to say that Coman will get continued game time under Flick next season.
