If the latest reports in Spain, as relayed by TEAMtalk, are to be believed then Premier League side Liverpool have made a sensational offer to bring Arda Guler on board from Real Madrid.
Madrid had spent around €20 million to snap up the Turkish prodigy from Fenerbahce last summer but his first season in Spain has not been a major success. He’s been injured for a large part of the campaign which is why he managed to feature in only 10 La Liga matches for the Los Blancos.
The right-winger has been touted to become one of the future superstars at the Bernabeu but Liverpool have delivered a shocker by making a formal approach for the 19-year-old. Arne Slot is said to be a fan of Guler’s talents and while details of the offer are not yet fully known, we are pretty sure that Liverpool wish to sign him on a short-term loan spell.
Will Real Madrid send Arda Guler to Liverpool?
Arda Guler might have had an average domestic season with Real Madrid but the youngster’s performance was one of the talking points in the recently concluded European Championship. He played in 5 games for Turkey in EURO 2024 where he scored one goal and provided two assists.
There’s no way Perez or Ancelotti will be ready to sell Adra Guler permanently and even Liverpool know that very well. If these reports are true then Liverpool will have approached with a loan proposal claiming that they will be able to provide the youngster some much-needed game time next season.
Mo Salah has entered the final year of his contract which is why Liverpool are looking for a replacement and even though he is a superstar player, Arne Slot will not want to fully rely on the Egyptian international while he is in his final year.
Arda Guler can very easily play in tandem with Mo Salah down the right wing and the 19-year-old can also operate in midfield as a No 10.
Even though he played only 10 league games last season, Guler did manage to score 6 goals and he will need a consistent run of games to reach peak form. If he chooses to remain at Real Madrid, Arda Guler will have to challenge the likes of Rodrygo, Endrick and Valverde for a regular playing spot but things will be a lot easier at Liverpool.
It’s highly unlikely that Liverpool will bring in a long-term replacement for Mo Salah this summer which means if Arda Guler chooses to move to Anfield for one season, he can easily play 25-20 games across all competitions.
Carlo Ancelotti will never allow Arda Guler to leave permanently but if Liverpool provide favourable terms for the loan deal then the Real Madrid manager should not have any issues in allowing the youngster to join the Anfield outfit and get some much-needed experience under his belt.
