Liverpool managed to qualify for the knockout stages of the Champions League after they beat Napoli 1-0 at Anfield on Tuesday.

Mo Salah scored the only goal of the game in the first half but in reality, Jurgen Klopp’s men should have won the game by a hefty margin only if Sadio Mane had managed to score all those missed chances.

Liverpool were easily the better team in the match but it looks like their superb performance might have come at a cost.

At the match, it was confirmed that two of Liverpool’s first team regulars had suffered injuries.

The first one being Trent Alexander Arnold who was replaced by Dejan Lovren in the dying minutes and now the manager has claimed that player has picked up a foot injury.

“Trent got a knock on his foot, we are not sure about what exactly it is. It is painful.” the Liverpool manager said.

The severity of the injury is not known yet but initial fears are that the full-back could be ruled out for Liverpool’s next league game which is against Manchester United.

The next player who joined the injured list on Tuesday was centre-back Joel Matip.

Joel Matip picked up a shoulder injury due to a collision and some reports claimed that the player had to be taken to the hospital after the match.

Jurgen Klopp though failed to confirm this report.

“I’m not sure,” said Klopp.

“Nobody told me anything about [Joel’s] shoulder, so hopefully that’s a good sign.”

James Milner also looked injured but the manager has confirmed that it was just cramp and he should be fit for Sunday’s game vs Man United.

The injuries to Alexander Arnold and Joel Matip just adds to the long list of defensive injuries that Jurgen Klopp currently has.

Joe Gomez is already out with a broken ankle while Dejan Lovren has just come back from an injury and in such a scenario is Matip and Arnold were to be ruled out then the tides would swing heavily in favour of Manchester United.
