Chelsea take on Wolves away from home right after the international break ends and earlier this week, there were fears that Emerson might miss out.

The left-back joined Chelsea from AS Roma in the summer of 2018 and this season he has finally moved up the pecking order under new boss Frank Lampard.

This campaign, Marcos Alonso has lost his place in the first XI to Emerson and the Italian international has started each and every Premier League game for the Blues so far.

But there were fears that the 25-year-old would miss the trip to Molineux after he picked up a knock during Italy’s win over Finland in the international break.

Now though the player has come out and provided an update saying that his injury is not too serious and he will not be out.

He posted a picture on Twitter saying: “Very important victory today guys. Unfortunately, I had a small injury, but nothing serious. Let’s continue like this!”

This will certainly be good news for Frank Lampard since Emerson had been a key person for the Blues, especially when going in attack.

Marcos Alonso has fallen down the pecking order but in the absence of Emerson, the Spaniard would have done more than a decent job.

But now that Emerson is fully fit and ready for selection, Wolves have one more thing to worry about when they welcome Chelsea on Saturday.

Chelsea are currently 11th on the Premier League table with 5 points while Wolves sit on 17th with 3 points. But despite just these 3 points, the home side have already stopped Leicester City and then Man United from picking up wins.
