Chelsea manager Frank Lampard is reportedly planning to part ways with left-back Emerson before the new Premier League season kicks off.
talkSPORT cites Corriere dello Sport saying: “Chelsea look set to offload defender Emerson Palmieri with discussions currently taking place.
“The Blues look set to sign Ben Chilwell from Leicester in a £50m deal and it is likely to be announced in the next few days.
“Corriere dello Sport claim Emerson is a target of Inter Milan this summer and negotiations are currently taking place between the clubs.”
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has now claimed that Chelsea have wrapped up the signing of Ben Chilwell from Leicester City and the London side should be announcing the deal pretty soon.
He wrote on Twitter: “Chelsea on next few days will announce Chilwell deal, go on to receive final answer from Thiago Silva and continue negotiations with Bayer Leverkusen for Kai Havertz after new bid made yesterday.”

And so in such a scenario, it makes no sense to hold onto Emerson anymore, especially when a club like Inter Milan have shown interest in him.
Emerson has fallen down the pecking order under manager Frank Lampard during the 2019-20 season, featuring in just 15 Premier League matches and failing to score or assist even a single goal.
Chelsea also have the services of Marcos Alonso and with the arrival of Ben Chilwell, it makes no sense for the Blues to hold onto three left-back for the upcoming season.
