Chelsea full-back Emerson has been a transfer target for a couple of European clubs and it seems like Lampard has finally decided to let him leave – as per reports in Italy.

Emerson joined the Blues from AS Roma in January of 2018 but the player has not been able to cement his place in the starting line-up this season under Frank Lampard.

So far during the 2019-20 season, the left-back has played in only 14 Premier League games and has failed to provide even a single assist.

Despite this, the defender has no shortage of takers in the market with Serie A sides Juventus and Inter Milan interested in signing him up during the summer transfer window.

The player is reportedly interested in making a move back to Italy and as per some reports, Inter Milan have already made contact with Chelsea over a possible transfer.

As per Italian news outlet CalcioMercato, Chelsea are open to letting Emerson leave in the summer but they want €40 million as transfer fee primarily since the player still has two years left on his current deal.

Chelsea are said to be chasing Leicester’s Ben Chilwell and right now they also have the services of Marcos Alonso. So in such a scenario, Lampard seems to have made up his mind to cash in on the Italian defender but what remains to be seen if the likes of Juventus or Inter Milan are interested in paying such a steep price or not.

Lampard obviously plans to use this money to bring in a replacement which is why the Chelsea boss is not likely to lower his demands.

So now what both Inter Milan and Juventus will have to decide is whether a player like Emerson is worth €40 million or not.

Right now, the Italian sides are firmly interested in signing the left-back but some claim, it’s Juventus who have the upper hand in this deal since Sarri is willing to offer Alex Sandro in a swap deal.
