Arsenal are willing to part ways with their 27-year-old keeper Emiliano Martinez now that Bernd Leno has returned to full fitness, according to The Athletic.

The report claims: “Arsenal are prepared to sell goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez between now and the end of the transfer window.

“The 27-year-old shone while standing in for Bernd Leno during Project Restart and has made no secret of his desire to continue as a No 1 goalkeeper, be that at Arsenal or elsewhere.

“Mikel Arteta and his staff, however, still consider Leno to be first choice. With the German now fit again to resume his duties, Arsenal feel they have little choice but to allow Martinez to leave.

“The situation is complicated by Martinez’s contractual situation.

“He has two years remaining on his current deal, a six-year contract signed in 2016 worth £20,000 per week. Martinez’s representatives have been seeking to renegotiate his terms for some time, to reflect his growing contribution to the club.

“Those talks have been delayed by Arsenal due to a number of factors.”

The report claims that Arsenal are willing to accept a transfer fee in the region of just £10 million if necessary and this is something that will surely not go down too well with the Gunners fans.

Emiliano Martinez has proved he can be a valuable asset to the club and with clubs like Real Betis and Valencia interested in signing him, the Premier League side should be holding onto their original demands of £20 million.

The 27-year-old wants regular game time at Arsenal next season which is something the club will not be able to offer so if the right offer comes by, the Argentine will definitely be heading to greener pastures in the coming weeks.
