The 2018 World Cup has truly been the tournament of upsets with the likes of Germany, Spain, Argentina and Brazil all being knocked out before the semis. And now former Les Bleus defender Bacary Sagna has revealed his favourite teams who will play the final.

France will take on Belgium in the first semi-final on Tuesday evening while England take on Croatia the following day in Moscow.

According to former Arsenal defender Bacary Sagna, France and England has what it takes to win their respective games and move onto the final next Sunday.

Speaking to talkSPORT 2, Sagna said: “Unfortunately for England, yes, they will be playing France,

“Because France started really slow, they didn’t really play great until the game against Argentina, which changed everything.

“They had to step up, they had to show that even if though they had an easy group, they had to show they want to perform this year and they managed to do it.

“They outplayed Argentina, they outplayed Uruguay (which we know was a strong team during the World Cup) – I think they are doing well.”

France will be hoping to win their first World Cup trophy since 1998 while the Three Lions are hoping to end a much longer drought – their last and only win coming way back in 1966.

England are expected to a relatively easier tie against Croatia while France might have to sweat it out against Roberto Martinez’s Belgium side who are in fine form after knocking out Brazil in the last round.
