England take on Panama in their second Group Stage game of the World Cup on Sunday but before that Gareth Southgate’s side has been amidst a whirlwind of controversies.
England are currently training at their World Cup base in Repino and it was here that Three Lions coach Steve Holland accidentally leaked England’s possible line-up against Panama.
Pictures have been circulating in the British media in which Holland can be seen holding a handwritten note. And in this note was possibly written down the line-up for Sunday’s game.
Ever since this image came out it has created a frenzy and it is clearly visible that Gareth Southgate is expected to make a couple of changes to his first XI.
Raheem Sterling might be rested for Sunday’s game and Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford could replace him.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek is also likely to start against Panama in place of Dele Alli who is carrying a niggling injury.
And it is this second change that has got people talking.
In the image, Dele Alli name has been marked out in red which indicates to the player’s injury.
But after getting a closer look at the image one can see that the English coaching staff have misspelt Dele Alli’s name.
Instead of writing Alli, Steve Holland or whoever wrote on that sheet seems to have penned down Ali.

This image has clearly divided the English fanbase with some viewing the infringement by the media as cynical while others feel that journalism is all about reporting and the person who released that was just doing his job.
