Chelsea take on Leicester City in the EPL this week and if the Blues fail to pick up a win then they will slip further down the league table.

Chelsea somehow struggled past a 10-man Fulham side on Saturday winning the match 1-0 but the Foxes have been in peak form meaning Lampard’s men cannot afford any lapse in concentration.

Chelsea are undefeated in 11 of their last 12 matches against Leicester in all competitions but the Foxes have not tasted defeat in their last five EPL matches. This means there’s every chance that the away side drop points once again.

Frank Lampard just cannot afford another slip-up in the EPL given how the other teams have been performing but the saving grace for the London side would be the fact that their manager has a fully fit squad to name his starting XI from.

EPL: Chelsea team news vs Leicester City

Kurt Zouma was pushed to the bench vs Fulham as Antonio Rudiger came into the side to partner Thiago Silva in central defence. If normalcy prevails then Zouma will return to defence but the manager might also opt to keep the same pairing from the Fulham win.

Reece James has returned from his short injury lay-off and he should be starting at right-back, replacing Azpilicueta.

Kante is back in contention and he is likely to replace Jorginho in defensive midfield against Leicester with Mason Mount keeping his place in central midfield.

Billy Gilmour was on the bench vs Fulham but the youngster will not be thrown into the starting line-up against a team like Leicester City. Mateo Kovacic will start once again.

Kai Havertz has been really poor so far this season and Frank Lampard will not shy away from keeping him on the bench once again.

Werner was omitted from the first XI vs Fulham but the German should come back into the side this week, even though he has been just as poor as Havertz. The introduction of Werner up front means Olivier Giroud should drop back to the bench.

Tammy Abraham will also be fighting for a place in the attacking front but he’s not likely to be used on Tuesday.

Hakim Ziyech could be replaced by Callum Hudson-Odoi on the right-wing after Lampard admitted that the academy graduate deserved to start vs Fulham.

There’s also a chance that Ziyech keeps his place on the right wing but it’s Christian Pulisic who makes way for Hudson-Odoi on the other flank.

The EPL race is heating up and the contenders for the top-four are finally hitting their peak form. But Chelsea are somehow still struggling to get their act together as they have just won just two out of their last five Premier League matches. Any more slip-ups and Frank Lampard will once again have to worry for his job at the Bridge.

Chelsea’s predicted XI vs Leicester City:

Predicted Starting Line-up: Edouard Mendy; Thiago Silva, Zouma/Rudiger, Chilwell, Reece James; Kante, Kovacic, Mason Mount; Hudson-Odoi/Ziyech, Pulisic, Giroud/Timo Werner.
