West Ham United register interest in this 24 Y/O La Liga left-back: An easy signing?

EPL side West Ham United are interested to sign 24-year-old Barcelona left-back Junior Firpo on a loan deal, according to talkSPORT.

The report claims: “West Ham United have been offered the chance to sign Barcelona defender Junior Firpo on loan, according to reports.

“Interest in the Spaniard was first reported in December after left wing-back Arthur Masuaku underwent career-saving knee surgery.”

Junior Firpo joined FC Barcelona from Real Betis in the summer of 2019 but this season he has played in only four La Liga games under manager Ronald Koeman.

It’s being claimed that Firpo is eager to move out this month and join a club where he can play regular first-team football and this is where West Ham United might suffer a setback.

The Hammers have Aaron Cresswell playing at left-back and this season, he has done brilliantly in the EPL. So if Junior Firpo does decide to join David Moyes’ side then he will have to prove his worth to the West Ham United manager.

Apart from the EPL side, AC Milan are also interested in signing the left-back from Barcelona and they might not be able to pay for a permanent transfer fee this month due to their presidential election situation.

A move to the EPL will sound really lucrative for Junior Firpo but if David Moyes cannot offer him regular football then we don’t think the 24-year-old will move to England.

With Arthur Masuaku out injured, the London outfit need to bring in a backup left-back for the remainder of the season and Firpo can be the ideal choice – if they can convince him to choose a move to the EPL over joining AC Milan.
