Martin Odegaard to EPL side Arsenal

EPL side Arsenal looks to have secured a short-term loan deal for Real Madrid midfielder Martin Odegaard, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

The deal has been in the pipeline for a few days now and it was being claimed that Arsenal are in the final stages of wrapping up the loan move. And now that Fabrizio Romano has given his seal of approval, the official announcement is set to follow soon.

Romano wrote on Facebook: “Ødegaard-Arsenal, here we go!

“The agreement has been reached between Arsenal and Real Madrid for Martin Ødegaard on loan until the end of the season.

“Medicals pending then Ødegaard will also sign paperworks and join #AFC until June, loan fee will be around £2,5m.

“Mikel Arteta’s call has been key to convince Ødegaard. Real Sociedad was his priority, then Arsenal joined the race and Martin wanted to try Premier League football.

“Arsenal are waiting for the player next week for medicals and details, then the deal will be announced.”

This is great news for the Arsenal fans since Martin Odegaard has been regarded as one of the most promising youngsters at Real Madrid right now.

This season, the youngster has failed to get regular game time under Zinedine Zidane but last campaign, he had a superb loan spell with Real Sociedad.

Mikel Arteta will be hoping the 22-year-old can replicate the same form in the EPL as well but Odegaard will surely have to prove his value to the Arsenal boss, especially since someone like Emile Smith Rowe has been in such peak form over the past few weeks.

Also, it will be interesting to see what happens to another Real Madrid loanee Dani Ceballos now with the arrival of Martin Odegaard.
