Martin Odegaard to EPL side Arsenal

The Gunners have wrapped up the signing for Martin Odegaard on loan from Real Madrid and now the big question is whether the playmaker will feature for Arsenal vs Man United this weekend in the EPL.

Speaking about their latest arrival, the Gunners boss explained why the North London side chose to make a move for the 22-year-old and how he’ll add a new dimension to their gameplay.

“He’s a player that we followed for some time and we believe that he’s got some special qualities that we need, that we have been missing,” Arteta said, as per the club’s official website.

“Now we have to give him a little bit of time. He hasn’t played that many minutes in Madrid but he’s been training hard and he looks so excited, as we are, to have another big talent at our club.

“I think in the last few seasons he’s progressed and developed in the right way. I’ve followed him very closely because he played for Real Sociedad, which is my home town. I know him really well.

“I’ve been really impressed. He’s a such a talent. He needs the right environment, he needs a little bit of time but I think he’s got the qualities to be a success for us.”

EPL: Will Martin Odegaard start for Arsenal vs Man United?

Martin Odegaard had been an active player in the Real Madrid squad during the 2020-21 season but he’s just arrived in the Premier League – possibly the fiercest league in the whole world.

And this is the sole reason why manager Mikel Arteta might keep his out of the starting line-up on Saturday.

During the first half of the season, Martin Odegaard played in seven league matches for the Los Blancos and at best, the attacking midfielder could get a place on the bench for Arsenal vs Man United.

Emile Smith Rowe was taken off due to a knock with 18 minutes left on the clock in midweek against Southampton but the youngster should recover in time play in attacking midfield against Manchester United at the Emirates on Saturday.
