Liverpool will take on Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League next weekend and the outcome of this game will surely have a major impact on the title race.

As of now, Liverpool sit on top of the table but they have played one game more than Manchester City.

But a win vs Spurs at Anfield would mean that Jurgen Klopp’s men would be able to consolidate their lead.

Playing at home, Liverpool will most certainly be the favourites but Mauricio Pochettino is known to be a manager who always goes for the kill during crunch scenarios.

While Liverpool are expected to have a fit squad, Spurs might just have been dealt with a severe blow after Eric Dier injured himself on international duty.

The midfielder limped off during England’s win over the Czech Republic and now the Three Lions boss has confirmed that he would be heading back to his club.

England boss Gareth Southgate said(as reported): “I think Dier will go back to his club. Hopefully, it’s not too serious, it’s a bit of a muscular injury but he won’t be right for our second game.”

This means Eric Dier would miss England’s next game vs Montenegro and he could very well be unavailable when Spurs make the trip to Merseyside.

The extent of the injury is not yet known but Mauricio Pochettino will surely not be a happy man since he missed the whole of February.

A win for Liverpool will not only help them in the title race but it will seriously affect Spurs are well.

Right now, Spurs are just one point above fourth-placed Arsenal and if they lose this match then they could very well move below Arsenal at the start of next week.

We might have to wait for a couple of more days in order to get the final verdict of the injury but right now things are certainly not looking good for Eric Dier.
