Man United have suffered a 4-0 loss at the hands of Brentford and manager Erik ten Hag has very rightly thrown his players under the bus.
Everyone was waiting for a positive response from the Manchester United players after their shocking loss to Brighton but they have gone ahead and dropped one step lower.
This was one of the most humiliating losses that the Red Devils have suffered in the Premier League era and Erik ten Hag has not minced his words in his post-match interview.
“It is my responsibility to give an explanation. It is clear the performance was really poor. When you make mistakes like this, you can’t win the game,” Ten Hag said( as per The Athletic).
“It is about taking responsibility on the pitch, you cannot make such mistakes at our level. We had to deal with the disappointment and bring the belief on the pitch.
“You have to be ready for a game and be ready for the battle as individuals and as a team. We have to push each other and bring the demands in because it is not good.”

The Man United players looked all over the place during the 90 minutes and after these two games, Erik ten Hag surely understood the monumental task he has on his hands.
The ex-Ajax man has very honestly admitted that the club needs to bring in the necessary players if Man United want to get back to the top.
He said: “It is clear we need players but I don’t want to think about that in this moment. The good players we had should have been better.
“I hoped for a better start, but still I have to believe because I have seen good things but the two games from now are disappointing.”
After the collapse against Brentford, the Man United manager should be working round the clock to bring in at least one world-class central midfielder, one centre-forward and possibly one defender in order to back their new manager to do his rebuilding job.
It’s pretty clear that his current bunch of Man United players cannot play the Erik ten Hag system(something that was highlighted very well by Rangnick) which is probably why the manager is so desperate to sign someone like Frenkie de Jong.
The only two ways out of this problem are to sign the exact kind of players that the manager actually wants and then give the Dutchman time to clear out all the deadwood and enforce his brand of football.
