Chelsea and Manchester City have been linked with a move for Dortmund’s Erling Haaland this summer and it looks like the Blues are not wasting any time.

Chelsea have just won the Champions League and at the back of this success, Thomas Tuchel has been guaranteed summer reinforcements from the club’s owner and the management.

Erling Haaland is one of the names that has been associated with Chelsea and according to journalist Kristof Terreur, the London outfit are already in touch with the centre-forward.

“I know that there have been talks with Haaland’s people before, but Haaland is a difficult one to predict, too” he told The Football Terrace.

“Definitely, since Dortmund qualified for the Champions League, you feel that now they have an extra reason to keep him.

“But Haaland is the one that everybody wants to get and I would wait for him.”

Making contact does not give Chelsea any major boost since half-a-dozen clubs are in line to sign Erling Haaland this summer.

Dortmund are not too eager to part ways with the Norwegian this time around which is why they have slapped a £172million price tag on him just to keep the suitors away.

We are not sure if Chelsea will be ready to spend so much money on a single player but Manchester City surely have the finances to pull this one through.

BVB have quoted such an astronomical price just so that the interested clubs back off but if someone is ready to pay £172million then we don’t see why the German side won’t sell.

The names of Lukaku and Harry Kane have also been associated with both the Premier League sides and as things stand both these players will be a much cheaper alternative to Erling Haaland.

But similar to the Bundesliga side, Inter Milan and Spurs are not willing to cash in on their respective assets this summer.

Chelsea need an upgrade to the poor performing Timo Werner while Manchester City need to fill up the void left behind by Sergio Aguero. So there’s bound to be a lot of tussle over strikers this time around.

We will just have to wait and see if Borussia Dortmund play smart and make a huge profit by selling Erling Haaland or do they hold onto him for one more season.
