German side Borussia Dortmund are making sure they can hold onto Erling Haaland for at least one more season, that’s according to ESPN.

The report claims: “Erling Haaland’s transfer fee this summer has been set by Borussia Dortmund, sources told ESPN, with interested clubs needing €180 million in order to land one of the most sought after players in world football.

“The hardline tactic is in place this summer for Haaland, sources told ESPN, in a move that is designed to warn Europe’s heavyweights off making a bid. United, Manchester City, Chelsea, Real Madrid, Barcelona and Bayern Munich all have varying levels of interest in the Norway international, but in a transfer market impacted by the coronavirus pandemic, Dortmund hope their €180m valuation will keep Haaland at the club for another year.”

Erling Haaland joined the Bundesliga side in 2020 and he was supposed to polish his skills in Germany for the next three years. But to everyone’s surprise, the youngster has taken no time to settle down at the biggest level and so far, he’s netted 21 goals in 21 appearances in the league.

Will Erling Haaland remain with Dortmund next season as well?

Borussia Dortmund are trying really hard to keep Erling Haaland at the club for one more season and they feel this huge price tag will be able to fend off all the suitors this summer.

But, the kind of form the youngster has been in, this season, we doubt if clubs like Real Madrid and Manchester City will back out from making an offer.

Barcelona will find it extremely difficult to match this huge valuation due to their huge debts and even Bayern Munich are not likely to spend so much money on a single player.

But clubs like Real Madrid, Chelsea and Manchester City have the financial power to make this deal happen and there’s a big chance one of them will be ready to pay €180 million for Erling Haaland in the summer.

Man United also have money to spend but Ole needs to sign a few more key players as well and this could be one of the reasons why the OT outfit will think twice before making a formal move for the striker.

Ole seems to be in constant contact with the 20-year-old but in the end, it will the price tag that will control this deal and if Borussia Dortmund are not getting a hefty sum then there’s no way they will allow Erling Haaland to leave in the summer.

The centre-forward still has three more years left on his current deal at the club so the German side can afford to hold onto him for one more season – without the risk of losing out on too much money.
