England manager Gareth Southgate has just announced his 26-man squad for EURO 2020 and we can’t help but agree that his one of the strongest Three Lions squad we have seen for a long time.

The manager had earlier named his 33-man provisional squad and on Tuesday, before the deadline, the manager had to leave seven players out of the Euros.

Manchester United’s Mason Greenwood is the first name on the list as he withdrew from the tournament owing to an injury and along with the youngster, his club teammate Jesse Lingard also misses out.

Lingard had a revival of sorts with West Ham United during the second half of the 2020-21 season but despite his greats efforts, Southgate has chosen to snub him. Tuesday morning there were various reports which claimed that Liverpool’s Trent Alexander Arnold could be missing from the 26-man squad as well but the right-back has been included.

Apart from Greenwood and Jesse Lingard, Ben Godfrey, Aaron Ramsdale, James Ward-Prowse, Ollie Watkins and Ben White also miss out from the final list.

26-man England squad for EURO 2020:

Goalkeepers: Dean Henderson (Manchester United), Sam Johnstone (West Brom), Jordan Pickford (Everton).

Defenders: Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool), Ben Chilwell (Chelsea), Conor Coady (Wolves), Reece James (Chelsea), Harry Maguire (Manchester United), Tyrone Mings (Aston Villa), Luke Shaw (Manchester United), John Stones (Manchester City), Kieran Trippier (Atletico Madrid), Kyle Walker (Manchester City).
