Here’s why Jurgen Klopp wants his Liverpool players to be careful of Everton

Liverpool take on Everton in the Premier League on Wednesday and a lot is resting on this game, not only for the two sides involved but also a number of other clubs.

The Reds need to pick up a win in order to maintain that gap at the top of the table whereas Marco Silva is desperate to pick up a win since he is on the verge of being sacked by the Toffees.

Many believe this will be the last chance for Silva to prove himself at Goodison Park and if Everton are beaten by a hefty scoreline on Wednesday then the management will waste no time in showing their manager the door.

And this is why Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has urged his players to be extra cautious going into the Merseyside Derby.

“Remember we don’t have to speak about quality and quality differences,” said the German[as reported].

“Are we in a better moment in the table? Of course, that is obvious

“But the stats, from my point of view, help Everton more than us because they want to strike back. They want do show they can do differently. They can solve a lot of problems in one game.

“It is a very important football game for us but that must be enough for us.”

“Of course I have sympathy[for Marco Silva] because I know how difficult the life of a manager can be. But the last thing Marco needs now is that I feel sorry for him – I don’t. But I am really on his side because I know about the job.”

Everton have won just one out of their last five league matches and going into the derby, the Goodison Park outfit are just two points off the relegation zone.
