Premier League side Everton FC are trying to sign Rangers FC right-back Nathan Patterson, as per the Daily Mail.

The Daily Record cite the report writing: “Everton will reportedly come in with a new offer for Rangers rising star Nathan Patterson in January, having been rebuffed in the summer window.

“Though he’s played just 20 club games the youngster has been attracting interest from elsewhere, with Everton seeing a bid turned down in the summer.

“And the Daily Mail reports that Rafa Benitez is still keen on a move and could return with a new offer in January.”

Will Everton be able to sign Nathan Patterson?

Last summer, Everton were willing to pay £5 million for the services of the 20-year-old but the Gers were swift to turn down the offer.

Gerrard had said at the time: “I’ll ask the question when I go back on the bus but if you’re going to talk about Nathan Patterson you need to get real.

“£5m is, I don’t know, that’s definitely come out of a joke book surely.”

While the latest reports have not suggested a price but in the summer, Everton were ready to make a second offer of around £10 million before they shifted their focus to Arsenal’s Ashley Maitland-Niles.

And we have a feeling the Toffees will start their bargaining from this where they had left off.

According to TransferMarkt, Patterson is valued at only £1.17 million so a fee of £10 million is a really good price for the right-back.

The Gers won’t be able to play too bold since they need money to be able to make their own signings so Everton should be able to get their hands on Nathan Patterson without much fuss.

Everton currently have only two recognised right-backs in the form of Coleman and Jonjoe Kenny so if Nathan Patterson were to join them then he would have a great shot of playing regular football for the first-team squad.
