Everton somehow managed to scrape past Arsenal in their previous Premier League game meaning their hopes of a top-four finish are still alive.

Next up, they take on Aston Villa and this will be the Toffees’ game-in-hand so if they can win this one then Carlo Ancelotti’s side will move to within three points off the fourth spot on the table.

Everton are undefeated in their last 9 home matches against Aston Villa in all competitions and their last EPL home loss to Villa came way back in 2008. And given that Dean Smith’s side have picked up just one win in their previous five matches, Everton are undoubtedly the favourites to come out victorious from this encounter.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side have gotten a full-week rest and the manager also has only a handful of injury concerns so it will not be a total surprise to see the Italian name an unchanged starting line-up on Saturday.

Everton team news vs Aston Villa:

Michael Keane missed the Arsenal game due to a hamstring injury and the defender remains a doubt for this weekend’s clash as well.

If Keane is not available then Holgate and Godfrey will pair up in central defence with Seamus Coleman playing at right-back and Digne operating on the left-hand side of defence.

Tom Davies will be pushing for a start while Doucoure remains absent with an ankle injury. But the Everton manager is expected to go with the pairing of Allan and Andre Gomes in central midfield.

James Rodriguez will play in the No 10 role with Sigurdsson and Richarlison playing on the wings. Bernard remained an unused sub vs Arsenal but he will be hoping to get some game time this weekend.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin will lead the lead but if Carlo Ancelotti wishes to change things up towards the end of the game then Alex Iwobi will also be available from the bench.

How Everton could line up vs Aston Villa:

Predicted Starting Line-up: Pickford; Holgate, Godfrey, Seamus Coleman, Digne; Allan, Andre Gomes, James Rodriguez; Richarlison, Sigurdsson, Calvert-Lewin.
