Everton have had an up and down season in the Premier League this year and currently, they are eight on the table with one more game to play.

The Toffees have won just two out of their previous five league matches and there’s a big chance they could be starting at yet another loss since they will take on Manchester City on Sunday.

Everton are undefeated in 13 of their last 14 away matches in the league and have kept a clean sheet in six out of their previous seven matches so naturally, they will go into this final game with their tales up.

Also, a European spot is still up for grabs so Carlo Ancelotti is going to name his strongest XI on Sunday and this could be the perfect opportunity for his side to pick up a win since Pep Guardiola is expected to rest some key players with the Champions League final coming up.

Everton team news vs Manchester City:

Yerry Mina is back to full fitness and even started against Wolves in midweek. The defender is going to get another start alongside Michael Keane this Sunday.

The Toffees boss is likely to settle for a 4-4-2 system to counter Man City’s midfield press meaning Sigurdsson and Iwobi are likely to play as the two wide midfielders with Allan and Dourcoure playing in a more defensive role.

Seamus Coleman picked up a knock against Wolves and will not be available for selection against Manchester City.

The manager said: “Coleman had a problem during the game against Wolves and will not be available for the game but he will support the team as a captain.”

The manager has confirmed that James Rodriguez is not going to be available for Sunday’s game which is a big setback for Everton. Andre Gomes will be available from the bench though.

Ancelotti said in his pre-match press conference: “James Rodriguez is unfortunately not available for this game. He has not recovered from the problem with his calf.

“Unfortunately he did not finish the season well. Now he will be focused to prepare for the Copa America with his national team. I hope to have him back next season at his best.”

Richarlison and Calvert-Lewin have been pairing up front and nothing is going to change in that area of the pitch on Sunday.

Everton’s predicted XI vs Man City:

Predicted XI: Pickford; Keane, Mina, Godfrey, Digne; Allan, Doucoure, Sigurdsson, Alex Iwobi; Richarlison, Calvert-Lewin.
