Everton are currently fifth on the English Premier League table and next up, they take on a struggling Arsenal side at Goodison Park.

The Toffees have picked up three wins in their last five league matches and they could very well be looking at another three-pointer since Arsenal are winless in their last six league matches.

On paper, both these sides will be evenly matched but Carlo Ancelotti knows pretty well that with the kind of attacking prowess his side posses they can easily shred apart Arsenal’s back-line.

The Everton boss though has a few injury concerns of his own which could prompt him to alter his formation a bit – adding a few extra defensive-minded players.

Everton team news vs Arsenal:

Yerry Mina and Michael Keane will keep their place in central defence along with Holgate and Ben Godfrey. But given the fact that Allan is out injured, Ancelotti might opt to add Jonjo Kenny into the back-line as well.

Allan picked up a hamstring injury during Everton’s midweek win against Leicester City and he will not be fit in time to take on Arsenal.

This means Andre Gomes is likely to come into the side alongside Abdoulaye Doucoure – both of them being deployed in central midfield.

Seamus Coleman is expected to make a comeback from injury and could be named in the matchday squad vs the Gunners.

Richarlison and Alex Iwobi will also keep their place from the Leicester City game but some experts believe Ayoze Perez could be given a chance to start against Arsenal this weekend.

James Rodriguez is also expected to be fit for the Arsenal game but we doubt if the Everton boss will risk naming him in the first Xi against a relatively strong opponent.

The Colombian should start on the bench and Everton could use him sometime in the second half of the match.
