Everton take on Liverpool in the Premier League this weekend and Carlo Ancelotti will get back two key first-team players for the derby.

The Toffees go into this game at the back of a 3-1 loss to Man City but the manager will be able to name a more strong starting XI than he could do vs Guardiola’s side since Allan and Calvert-Lewin are expected to fully recover from their injuries.

“We preferred to give Allan one day training instead of staying on the bench [against Manchester City],” Ancelotti told evertontv, as quoted by the club’s official website.

“He trained today and we hope he will be available for Saturday – to start.

“Also, Calvert-Lewin, I think, can start.”

Allan has not played for Everton since December after sustaining a hamstring injury in Everton’s victory at Leicester City and Dominic Calvert-Lewin has missed the last two matches after suffering a minor hamstring problem.

The return of these two players will be great news for Carlo Ancelotti and Dominic Calvert-Lewin will move straight back into the starting line-up on Saturday.

Allan has been out for a long time which is why we don’t think Ancelotti will risk giving him a start against a team like Liverpool.

But all the pre-match updates were not positives from the Everton boss with Ancelotti claiming that centre-back Yerry Mina will not be available selection after picking up a knock in the first-half vs Manchester City.

The Everton boss confirmed: “Yerry Mina, we have to check tomorrow.

“For sure, he will not be available to play against Liverpool.”

Everton looked toothless in attack vs Man City due to the absence of Dominic Calvert-Lewin but with the forward back to full fitness, he will undoubtedly add more variety in the final third and more importantly, Richarlison can go back to playing on the left wing.
