Next Newcastle United manager Unai Emery Villarreal

Everton have parted ways with Marco Silva last week and as per reports, the Toffees want Unai Emery as their next manager.

The Goodison Park outfit are currently just two points off the relegation zone and have lost nine out of their first 16 matches in the Premier League so far.

So naturally, with such a dismal record, the club had to part ways with Marco Silva and right now Duncan Ferguson is taking care of the squad until Everton find an heir to Silva.

And as per the latest reports, the Toffees have made contact with Unai Emery who is looking to get back into management after being sacked by Arsenal recently.

A Sky Sports report claims: “Former Arsenal boss Unai Emery was approached about the Everton job, Sky Sports News understands.

“An informal meeting was held in London and it is thought Emery wants more time to think about his next move following his dismissal as Arsenal head coach.”

The Gunners had also been going through a rough phase under Unai Emery which is why the club chose to sack him despite the fact that they had plans to back him until the end of the season.

Some rumours have claimed that Unai Emery is looking to head back to Spain but we don’t think he would want to move out of the Premier League without proving himself atleast once.

And in such a scenario, the Everton job will be the perfect alternative for the ex-Arsenal boss since the Toffees can provide him with the necessary budget to start an overhaul.

It is still unclear whether Unai Emery is interested in taking charge of Everton but as per the latest updates, right now he needs some time away from football in order to decide his future course of action.
