Liverpool had a wonderful season last time around reaching the Champions League final only to lose harshly to Real Madrid.

But Jurgen Klopp is surely not banking on the fine performance of last season as the Liverpool manager has gone out and spent as much as £160 million during the summer transfer window.

The German manager has bought in the likes of Alisson Becker, Fabinho and Xherdan Shaqiri during the summer and now one of these transfers has revealed that a Manchester City player actually convinced him to join the Merseyside outfit.

Midfielder Fabinho has revealed that it was Manchester City’s Bernardo Silva who advised him about moving to England.

Both Fabinho and Silva were teammates at Monaco and the former who signed for Liverpool during the summer for a fee of £40.5 million told Sky Sports(as reported by MEN):

“He told me how much I would like Liverpool and how impressed he was, by the way, people here live and breathe football,

“We were good friends at Monaco and he was one of the best players there.

“We had a real understanding, and I’m really happy for him that he won the title last season.

“I wish him plenty of individual success this season, but not the title!”

In Europe, Liverpool had a wonderful run but Jurgen Klopp’s men finished fourth on the Premier League table during the 2017-18 season – 25 points behind Manchester City.

But the Reds have started this season on a perfect note – beating Manuel Pellegrini’s West Ham United 4-0 during Gameweek 1.
