Liverpool take on Everton in the Premier League this coming Saturday and there’s a chance that Fabinho could be fit for selection, according to This is Anfield.

The report claims: “Jurgen Klopp will give Fabinho every chance to prove his fitness ahead of Saturday’s meeting with Everton but the midfielder is currently considered a major doubt.

“The Reds have been without their No.3 since he sustained a muscle injury ahead of last weekend’s 3-1 defeat to Leicester City.

“Uncertainty still remains over whether Fabinho will face the Toffees, though This Is Anfield understands that possibility is not yet completely ruled out.

“However, club sources have suggested Fabinho would have to progress quickly in his rehabilitation over the coming days to claim a place in the starting XI.”

Fabinho has been playing as a centre-back for most of the season due to the long-term absence of Joe Gomez and Virgil Van Dijk but the Brazilian was recently ruled out due to a muscle injury.

The midfielder has missed the last five out of six games for Liverpool due to this injury and up until now, most of the updates had claimed that he is going to miss the Merseyside Derby as well.

But if he can actually prove himself fully fit then it’s great news for manager Jurgen Klopp.

Ozan Kabak has now played two games in central defence and if Fabinho is fit for selection then the Liverpool boss is going to have a really solid defensive partnership for this weekend’s game.

The return of Fabinho would also allow Jordan Henderson to get back into central midfield and possibly replace Thiago as the Spaniard has been pretty average so far.
