Arsenal have made their first official bid for this forward who’s wanted by Real Madrid: Is a deal possible?

Gabriel Jesus Man City

According to a report in Goal, Arsenal have made their first official approach to sign Manchester City’s Gabriel Jesus.

The Gunners are being linked with Jesus for more than a month and it looks like they have finally decided to scrap all their other targets and make a move for the 25-year-old, primarily because he wishes to leave City.

As per Goal, Arsenal’s first offer is said to be around €50 million but Manchester City will only accept offers of €60 million.

Gabriel Jesus has refused to sign a new deal with Manchester City and he and his agent have both made it clear that several clubs are interested to sign him and a summer exit is a very real possibility.

Will Arsenal be able to land Gabriel Jesus before Real Madrid?

For the longest time, Arsenal were the favourite to sign the Brazilian international but all of a sudden, Real Madrid have shown an interest in him.

The Madrid manager is said to be an admirer of Jesus and they might be seriously planning to make a move for him in the coming weeks.

This is a massive headache for Arsenal because the lure of playing for Madrid is indisputable plus the Los Blancos can very easily outbid them.

However, Fabrizio Romano has given a glimmer of hope claiming that Madrid are yet to make up their mind regarding this transfer plus Gabriel Jesus wishes to remain in the Premier League.

He wrote on Twitter: “Gabriel Jesus deal. He still wants to leave Man City and the expectation is for Gabriel to join a Premier League club this summer, official bids will arrive soon.

“Real Madrid had some contacts few weeks ago to explore situation but still nothing advanced, as of now.”

This news, if true, is a major boost for the North London side because they desperately need a new centre-forward before the next season kicks off.

All their other targets are either still contemplating their future or are way too expensive so Arsenal cannot afford to miss out on Gabriel Jesus.

As long as Real Madrid are not making any concrete approaches, Arsenal will be able to see this one through but if Perez steps up his interest then Mikel Arteta and Edu stand no chance whatsoever.
