England lost their World Cup semi-final tie 2-1 at the hands of Croatia but there is hardly any dull fans despite the loss.

The Three Lions were playing their first semi-final since 1990 and everyone was hoping that this time the team can manage to end their long-awaited World Cup drought.

But sadly that was not to be.

Even though England have not made it to the finals, the English fans are happy with what their team has achieved this year.

Unlike the golden generation of English football which was ruined due to club rivalries, this young generation has been able to come together as a unit.

The young, relatively inexperienced team managed to churn out performances, one after the other ultimately reaching the semi-final.

And most of the people think that manager Gareth Southgate is the person responsible for making a bunch of talented lads work together as a team.

But what the boss did after the defeat to Croatia has earned him even more respect.

After the final whistle was blown and all the supporters had left the stadium, a large contingent of English fans were still present inside the stadium, cheering the names of the players and the manager.

And the manager did not disappoint these people.

After finishing all his post-match interviews and media commitments, Gareth Southgate finally came out to thanks the fans, after 70 minutes.

Sports presenter Jacqui Oatley shared a video on her social media writing: “Full video of @GarethSouthgate’s long-awaited emergence from the tunnel – precisely 70 minutes after the final whistle. The @England fans had been chanting for him non-stop while he was inside conducting all his media duties. #mixedemotions #
