Rangers FC have managed to sign John Lundstram on a free transfer a couple of days ago and this signing could mean that Glen Kamara will be allowed to leave in the coming weeks.
Glen Kamara has been a key figure in Rangers’ title-winning season but his performances for club and country have also attracted a number of big English clubs. As per some rumours, Watford, Brentford and Everton are all interested in signing the 25-year-old.
Kevin Campbell believes the arrival of a central midfielder like Lundstram means Kamara’s days at Rangers could be numbered.
The ex-Arsenal man told Football Insider: “Look, Lundstram’s arrival might be a hint that Kamara is off. If somebody makes a crazy bid I am sure Rangers will consider it.
“I know they have a lot of midfielders now but they are in a lot of competitions.
“They’ve got the Champions League to look forward to next season. They will need to use their full squad.
“I’m telling you now, Steven Gerrard will be desperate to win everything. He will want as strong and as deep a squad as he can.”
Will Glen Kamara return to the Premier League?
Rangers will love to hold onto Glen Kamara beyond the summer but the ex-Arsenal player has only two more years left on his current deal with the club so this is the ideal time to cash in on him.
TransferMarkt values him at £5.40 million but with so many clubs interested in him, the Gers can very easily rope in three or four times that price.
The arrival of John Lundstram is a clear indication that Steven Gerrard is preparing for life without Glen Kamara. And with so many big Premier League clubs eyeing him, it will not be a problem for Rangers to offload him.
During the 2020-21 season, the midfielder played in 51 games for the Gers across all competitions.
