Harry Kane has been tipped to move out of Tottenham Hotspur and now Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has hinted that his club could try and sign him during the ongoing transfer window.

Man City have long been deemed as one of the favourites to sign the England international and now with this statement, Guardiola has more or less confirmed that they will make a move for him.

“He is a player for Tottenham Hotspur and if Tottenham don’t want to negotiate, it is finished,” Guardiola said, as quoted by Sky Sports.

“I think Man City and many clubs in the world want to try to sign him, we are not an exception, but it depends on Tottenham.

“It is different to Jack. He had the release [clause] and Jack is different. Harry is exceptional and we are interested in him but if Tottenham don’t want to negotiate, nothing more to say.”

Will Guardiola shift his focus from Harry Kane to Lionel Messi?

Manchester City have just spent £100 million to bring Jack Grealish on board and Harry Kane is valued even more than that.

While City do have the financial power to pay such a steep fee for Kane but now that Lionel Messi is leaving Barcelona, Pep Guardiola has a massive decision to make.

Any club in the world would love to sign Lionel Messi but Manchester City are amongst the handful of sides who can actually afford him. Plus, he has previously worked with Guardiola at Camp Nou so that makes things a lot easier.

Harry Kane is a much-needed investment for the club after the departure of Sergio Aguero but it’s not every day that a player like Messi is available in the market.

City can only afford to sign one of these superstars and once the dust settles on Messi’s departure, we will get to know if Pep Guardiola is going all out to sign Harry Kane or is he interested in reuniting with the Argentinian wizard.
