Arsene Wenger wants Harry Kane to remain at Spurs

Harry Kane recently dropped a bombshell by revealing that he will decide his future at Tottenham once he’s come back from the Euros.

“I think that’s a hard question to answer right now,” Kane said when asked about his future at the club level and the impact it will have on his national team’s performances, via Sky Sports.

“It’s important that all my focus is on the two England games coming up now and the rest of the season with Spurs and then the Euros. To be thinking about speculation or rumours would be damaging in terms of my own performance.

“I always like to be focused on one goal and one job and that’s to finish strong with Spurs, win these qualifiers with England and hopefully go on and have a great Euros. Look, I try to stay out of that speculation as much as possible.

“I’m fully focused on doing the job on the pitch from now until the end of the summer, and then we’ll see where we go from there.”

And immediately after this, there been multiple experts and pundits coming out to advise on what Harry Kane should do during the summer transfer window. And almost all of them have advised the centre-forward to seek a transfer out of Spurs, in order to reach newer heights at the club level.

But former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has walked a totally different path by claiming that Kane should stick with the North London side.

“Tottenham are in a position where they can be ambitious and we should maybe not judge only today’s situation,” the former Arsenal manager told beIN Sports, as quoted by the Standard.

“Tottenham was top of the league in December. There were a few times when they were top of the league when I was still at Arsenal.

“He is the only one who can assess the situation. A player like that is always solicited by other clubs and always has to assess his situation. He was until now a real top leader at Tottenham. He’s a top leader in the English national team. I respect highly his commitment and his quality.

“What I like today is he could play basically as a number 10 because the quality of his assists and the speed of his vision, and the execution of his speed on long balls is exceptional.”

Teams like Man United, Real Madrid and Man City have been keeping tabs on the Harry Kane situation and there’s a big chance that all of them will try and sign the England international for the upcoming season.

Kane still has three years years left on his current deal so Daniel Levy can afford to quote an astronomical fee for his most prized possession. And as per some rumours, the Spurs headman will want around 170 million pounds for the centre-forward.
